Loretto D. Desjardins, 72, a McLean entrepreneur who founded and operated Clean, Inc, and Trash Away, Inc. died Monday, February 7 at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ following the rupture of a cerebral aneurysm.

Ms. Desjardins was born and grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Her mother, Hazel, was a reading educator and her father, Zephyr, the Chief of Police. At sixteen, she entered the religious order of the Adrian Dominican Sisters in Adrian, Michigan where she was known as Sister Patrick James. Metals

  • Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours—or the equivalent of a half gallon of gasoline.
  • 350,000 aluminum cans are produced every minute!

  • During the time it takes you to read this sentence 50,000, 12-ounce aluminum cans are made.

  • To produce each week's Sunday newspapers 500,000 trees must be cut down.
